Refurbed surfside accommodation opens in Porthtowan

The Surf House, The Unicorn on the Beach

Newly refurbed Surf House is the perfect spot to rest and refresh after a session in Porthtowan’s waves

The Unicorn on the Beach and its shack-style Beach Bar are firm favourites with locals and visitors to surfy Porthtowan, but its on-site accommodation, Surf House, is somewhat of a hidden gem.

With room to sleep 12, the self-contained property is ideal for large families or groups of friends who want to stay a stone’s throw from the beach. Having recently undergone a stylish refurbishment, Surf House is a coastal-cool vision of seagrass lampshades, verdant houseplants and colourful surf boards.

In addition to the attractive decor, it’s been thoughtfully designed with families and groups in mind. There are three bedrooms with a mix of super-king, bunk and single beds, an open-plan kitchen and dining area, and a shower room with two washbasins and three individual shower cubicles.

Eskinzo Surf School is conveniently located on-site for those wanting to learn how to harness the power of the ocean. Following adventures in the surf, The Unicorn on the Beach beckons for casual seafood feasts of fresh lobster and crab-packed nachos, or delicious alt eats such as crispy tofu curry.
